The farmers’ market always intimidates me, and sometimes just downright scares me.

Holy crap look at the size of that cauliflower!
I had to literally dissect that cauliflower to fit it into veggie-saver bags. What the hell I am going to do with it, I don’t know. We did find a “cauliflower/ brussel sprout au gratin” recipe. I do like whenever you can au gratin something, given my adoration of cheese and cream sauce.

Will has a freakishly small head, so this even further accentuates the size of this cauliflower
Hand-in-hand with the farmers’ market in our little world is the Brooklyn Flea. After several mistrials in trying to get the much-talked-about lobster roll from the Red Hook Lobster Pound stand (including inclement weather, the Lobster Pound running out of propane, and crowds bc of friggin Martha Stewart attending the Flea), today we had SUCCESS!

Oh dear lord. Lobster roll perfection. Hands down some of the best $14 you can spend in NYC
It was all you could ask for, down to the perfectly toasted bun. However, the highlight of getting the lobster roll is not having to have to hear Will talk about getting the lobster roll anymore. AND we get to check it off of the whiteboard. Unfortunately there was an Asian hot dog stand there, so there will be something new for him to incessantly talk about. He actually almost got the Asian hot dog as a Lobster Roll chaser, but I reminded him about the 8 lbs of cauliflower we had at home that needed to be eaten.
* I think this might be the first time i’ve ever written “cauliflower,” certainly the most I’ve ever written it in succession. It doesn’t feel right.
OMG look- we’re sharing recipes now. I made this without the sissy olive thing and it was awesome.

We sell rolls at the pound on Van Brunt St every weekend. Glad you liked it.
